In addition to Type designations, these ancillary conditions can be evaluated and marked. The ancillary ratings are optional add-ons to enhance the basic Type rating. The -PW ratings may be appended only to Type 3, 3X, 3S, 3SX, 4, 4, 6, 6P, 12, 12K, or 13. The -HW ancillary rating may be appended only to Type 12, 12K, or 13.
